Influence of Additives on the Viscoelastic Behavior of Asphalt Concrete

Implication of mineral additives into the asphalt concrete mixture can influence viscoelastic behavior; change density, gradation, and strength properties. In present investigation, fly ash silica fumes were added to mixture. Slab samples compacted with aid laboratory roller, then beam specimens sawed from slab samples. The subjected repeated flexural stresses through four-points bending test at 20℃ under 400 micro-strain level until failure. was monitored compared. It concluded that phase angle, stiffness, fatigue life declines while cumulative dissipated energy increases after implication additives. However, exhibit a significant impact on properties as compared control or treated mixtures.
